Alison Wright has been an English actor for more than 20 years. She is most famous for her starring role as Martha Hanson on the FX historical spy drama The Americans, for which she received critical acclaim and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in the year 2017. Her other acting credits include The Ryan Murphy series Feud, Bette & Joan in Hollywood. Wright was born 12 July 1976 in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, where she was raised by adoptive parents. She began dancing and acting at a young age. She studied acting and dancing at the prestigious New York City's Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and The Barrow Group. When she was auditioning for parts, she was an waitress. A scuba diver who was injured, she ended up in an induced coma following a cardiac accident during a dive. She died peacefully six days later, surrounded by the love of her family who had travelled to her hospital bedside. Wright was born on the 12th of July, 1976 within Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, where she was fostered by adoptive parents. She began dancing and acting at a young age. She was a student at The Barrow Group and The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute which is located situated in New York City.
